Join us for this virtual Cafecito in partnership with YW Boston’s Parity on Board coalition to learn how we can diversify leadership in Massachusetts. Recent events have amplified existing concerns that, without diverse representation to inform critical decisions, public offices risk putting in place ineffective policies. More equitable decision-making is vital given that public boards and commissions have a significant impact on our state’s education, health and human services, workforce development, and public safety.

By joining a public board or commission, women and people of color can use their unique knowledge and experiences to become actively involved in their government and influence decisions that affect the life of Massachusetts residents. What’s more, board service has proven to be a valuable tool for women and women of color looking to advance their executive careers. According to a report by The Harvard Business Review, board experience helps women attain CEO jobs.
